About FirstStep Medicine

Before We Recommend,
We First Understand

FirstStep Medicine was created for patients who need more than a rushed appointment, a stack of incomplete forms, or an isolated test result. We take the time to gather the information that often remains disconnected across traditional healthcare visits.

Through structured interviews, we collect your health history, family history, symptom and illness timeline, food and lifestyle patterns, environmental exposures, and genomic information. Each piece is then organized and reviewed together rather than treated as a separate file.

The result is a clearer, more complete health picture that helps your practitioner make thoughtful, individualized recommendations with far more context from the beginning.

What We Gather

Six Data Points.
One Complete Story.

We combine the information patients live every day with the biological information contained in their genomic report, creating a more useful foundation for practitioner decision-making.

1

Patient Demographics

We begin with the basic information that helps place the patient’s story in context, including age, location, household, occupation, and relevant personal details.

2

Family Health History

We document patterns of illness and health across the family to help identify inherited tendencies, recurring concerns, and meaningful clinical connections.

3

Patient Health Timeline

We map illnesses, symptoms, medications, surgeries, major life events, family trauma, and changes over time so patterns are easier to recognize.

4–6

Diet, Environment & Genomics

We spend focused time collecting food and lifestyle information, environmental and occupational exposures, and genomic findings—then integrate them with the patient’s complete history.

How It Works

What Happens
Before Recommendations

Our process typically develops over five to six weeks, allowing time to collect, clarify, and connect the information that makes each patient’s story unique.

01

Week 1: Your Story Begins

We collect patient demographics, begin the family health history, and start building a detailed health and ailment timeline through guided interview rather than relying on lengthy forms.

02

Weeks 2–3: Diet & Lifestyle

We communicate with you over time to understand food patterns, daily routines, sleep, stress, movement, supplements, and other lifestyle influences that may affect your health.

03

Weeks 3–4: Environmental Exposures

We gather information about possible exposures through housing, water, work, hobbies, travel, chemicals, mold, metals, and other environmental influences.

04

Weeks 5–6: Genomics & Clinical Integration

When the genomic report is ready, we match it to the family history, food exposure, environmental exposure, medications, illnesses, and life events—then prepare a concise synopsis for practitioner review.

Why It's Different

A Different Starting Point
Changes Everything

Many healthcare visits rely on short appointments and disconnected records. FirstStep Medicine begins by gathering the fuller story and asking: what patterns become visible when all of this information is reviewed together?

Typical Intake Experience
Pieces of the Story
Remain Separate
Long intake forms may be incomplete
Appointments may leave little time for the full story
Family, diet, environment, and genetics may be reviewed separately
Important timelines can be difficult to reconstruct
The practitioner may spend hours organizing information behind the scenes
FirstStep Medicine
One Integrated
Clinical Picture
Structured interviews reduce the burden of lengthy forms
Your family history and health timeline are built carefully
Diet, lifestyle, and environmental influences are explored over time
Genomic findings are matched to your real-life history
Your practitioner receives an organized synopsis before making recommendations
